The Seekers

The war is over.

But the terror isn’t.

Perils of starvation, marauders, and predators continue. The threat of capture by the Seekers frightens the survivors. Seekers scan the countryside in planes equipped with infra-red scanners. When survivors are located, ground troops seize them. Prisoners of war are put into concentration camps.

Peter and the other survivors create a sanctuary in the hills. They learn how to take care of themselves and have fun doing it. But, can they figure out how to thwart the Seekers?

How will they escape the infra-red scanners? Will they be able to foil the menace of THE SEEKERS?

THE SEEKERS, is a 22,800 word story for teen readers. The story centers around a young man, Peter, who takes charge for the care of his family group. Peter is a teen war survivor who, with Helen and the other foster children, creates a sanctuary in the hills. Readers will learn a little about sustainable agriculture, edible and medicinal plants, wetlands, inappropriateness of prejudice, working together, and solar power. Learning how to take care of themselves and having fun doing it. The manuscript contains no violence.

The story focuses on the threat of Seekers, who round up war survivors and put them in concentration camps. Peter and the others try to figure out how to thwart the Seekers’ infra-red scanners. Woven into the drama are boy/girl conflict, near death and CPR, poisoning, robbers, Native Americans, and the arrival of the Seekers.
